Newton Mayenge

Award Winning HBO Actor Newton Mayenge is best known for his role as NBA Legend Jim Chones on the 6 time Emmy Nominated HBO series Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty. Newton is also a Director at Jig Reel Studios with over 130 Director’s credits.

As an Acting Instructor, Newton has coached many industry professionals working on various shows such as FBI’s Most Wanted and the Walking Dead just to name a few. Newton’s acting training includes The Juilliard School and Tasha Smith’s Acting Workshop. He graduated from the University of North Carolina in 2002 with a dual BA in Political Science and African-American Studies. He also attended Taft School of law and was an MBA Candidate at Florida Institute of Technology with a concentration in Internet Marketing. With over 30 actors credits, Newton currently teaches Scene Study classes at Jig Reel Studios when he is not filming a film or tv series.
